چکیده
This paper discusses the application of random search method for optimal design single-layered reinforced cylindrical shells operating in a neutral environment. When setting mathematical programming problem, minimum shell weight is considered as an objective function. The critical stresses are determined according to linear theory elastic region material. As constraints imposed on feasible region, strength, general buckling and partial accepted. aim this study efficiency various types reinforcements influence optimum-weight parameters axially-compressed one. A numerical experiment was carried out. Dependencies weight, wall thickness, reinforcement magnitude compressive load were investigated with different reinforcement. result performed, it found that increase magnitude, there tendency thickness shell, longitudinal stiffeners (stringers) slight decrease number ribs. In addition, should be noted case first special one turned out decisive choosing parameters.

Optimal Design of Cylindrical Shells
The present paper studies an optimization problem of dynamically loaded cylindrical tubes. This is a problem of linear elasticity theory. As we search for the optimal thickness of the tube which minimizes the displacement under forces, this is a problem of shape optimization. The mathematical model is given by a differential equation (ODE and PDE, respectively); the mechanical problem is descri...
متن کاملAxisymmetric Vibrations of Layered Cylindrical Shells with Cracks
Vibrations of circular cylindrical shells made of layered composite materials are considered. The shells are weakened by circumferential cracks. The influence of circumferential cracks with constant depth on the vibration of the shell is prescribed with the aid of a matrix of local flexibility coupled with the coefficient of the stress intensity known in the linear elastic fracture mechanics. N...
متن کاملOPTIMAL DESIGN OF SHELLS WITH STEP-FUNCTION DISTRIBUTION OF THICKNESS
The paper is concerned with a methodology of optimal design of shells of minimum weight with strength, stability and strain constraints. Stress and strain state of the shell is determined by Galerkin method in the mixed finite element formulation within the geometrically nonlinear theory. The analysis of the effectiveness of different optimization algorithms to solve the set problem is given. T...
متن کاملCalculation of Natural Frequencies of Bi-Layered Rotating Functionally Graded Cylindrical Shells
In this paper, an exact analytical solution for free vibration of rotating bi-layered cylindrical shell composed of two independent functionally graded layers was presented. The thicknesses of the shell layers were assumed to be equal and constant. The material properties of the constituents of bi-layered FGM cylindrical shell were graded in the thickness direction of the layers of the shell ac...
متن کاملBuckling Load Evaluation Method for Single Layer Cylindrical Lattice Shells
A rational design evaluation procedure is investigated for the elastic overall buckling load carrying capacity of single layer cylindrical lattice shell roof structures. The nature of the imperfection sensitivity of these structures is for the first time reviewed in this paper. This allows the development of the reduced stiffness buckling analytical concept for the lattice shells based upon the...
